Shoes for Hallux Valgus
We advise to avoid:
A heel higher than 5 cm
Too much arch (difference between the heel and the forefoot) increases pressure on the metatarsals.
Shoes that are too tight
You should NEVER feel tight in a shoe! Our priority, be comfortable in your shoes from the start ! If your shoes aren't comfortable when you try them on in the store, don't expect them to be any better afterward...
Synthetic materials
A shoe is there to protect your foot and must fit like a glove. We favor good quality leather that is very malleable.
Your shoe should mold to your foot, not the other way around.
We offer a wide range of models adapted for hallux valgus, with shoes featuring foam between the outer leather and the inner leather lining to relieve tension. As well as shoes made of neoprene that acts as an elastic band.
We strive to find styles that combine elegance and comfort. Can't find what you're looking for in our store? We'll order a style that fits your style and let you try it on, with no obligation to purchase.
Hallux valgus is an outward deviation of the base of the big toe. The toe of the big toe moves closer to the second toe, which causes a deformation of the front of the foot. This deformation may be associated with inflammation.
The appearance of hallux valgus is often due to genetic factors, pointed-toe shoes or even certain rheumatological diseases such as polyarthritis.
